When I was younger I never thought about nutrition or my health. Like many people I ate a lot of processed fast foods and I didn't exercise. I was on my way to a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, poor body image and feeling unhealthy. When I entered college I started seeing a Dietitian and she taught me that good nutrition can positively impact your life in so many ways. I stopped dieting, but I started adding healthier foods to my diet. Not only did my body start feeling better, but I had more energy and I felt better about myself than I ever had before. I was taking control of my life. I learned that by making small nutrition and lifestyle changes you can feel amazing and prevent chronic diseases. Having realized how important nutrition is encouraged me to become a Dietitian.
I have been a Dietitian for over 20 years. I have seen many nutrition trends come and go. I have seen the US population become sick and unhealthy. People are so busy and stressed. We no longer make taking care of our health a priority.
